A new civil rights case has been filed against Apple Inc. in Maryland’s District Court, Montgomery. The two Plaintiffs in this case are Deandre Simmons and Darius Green from the State of Maryland. The two are identified in the lawsuit as being “African American/Black citizens.” They’re suing Apple for being subjected to racial profiling at an Apple Store in Maryland.

Gavin Grimm, the transgender high school student who is suing his local school board for not allowing him to use the male bathroom, has had his case kicked back to a lower court by the Supreme Court.In canceling the arguments, scheduled for March 28, the Supreme Court also threw out an earlier appeals court ruling that stated the Gloucester County school board likely violated civil rights law by denying Grimm access to its male bathroom, according to Bloomberg. As a result, the lower court will now need to decide whether Title IX, which prohibits discrimination in schools, applies to Grimm’s case.

Thousands of people in Alabama gathered on Sunday to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of a significant event during the civil rights movement.
Reverend Jesse Jackson and other civil rights activists gathered at the staging ground of the historic march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. People reenacted the 1965 march where demonstrators were attacked by police officers as they tried to cross over into Montgomery.

A civil rights group on Hilton Head Island representing the interests of Native Islanders plans to protest this year’s RBC Heritage Golf Tournament in April, the group announced Saturday during its first public meeting.
“We want these golfers to come here and know exactly what the locals are doing to the original people of these islands,” said Elder James Johnson, president of South Carolina’s National Action Network.
