What gives me hope as we begin 2026? We’re still here and we’re still able to fight. 

In my book, Uncounted: The Crisis of Voter Suppression in America, I wrote about my 99-year-old grandmother who always had hope. We have far more resources today than during my grandmother’s era. I also find hope in the fact that there are still people fighting for our freedoms.
